CV Cesar Huete

Short Bio

César Huete received his 5-year degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in 2007. He earned his PhD at the same university in connection with UNED in 2012. The thesis, supervised by Prof. Gustavo Wouchuk, was focused on the theoretical study of the interaction of shock waves with weak turbulent flows.

After his PhD completion, he moved to University Carlos III de Madrid at the Thermal Engineering and Fluid Mechanics department,  to work with Prof. Antonio L. Sánchez  . The research was there focused on the interaction of thin detonation waves with turbulent flows. In 2013, he moved to UCSD to work with Prof. Forman A. Williams on problems involving the interaction of the detonations with small-scale turbulent flows and the effect of weak shocks on transonic mixing layers.

The incorporation of Prof. Antonio L. Sánchez to UCSD motivated his current research on the shock-induced combustion process, which is a very important, though challenging, problem in hypersonic engines such as Shcramjets.

In short, he is the shock wave guy!
